Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN
28 hours/week – benefits eligible, 20 hours/week in Clinic Float Pool; 8 hours/week in Allergy Clinic
Job Description
Medical Assistant: Provide support to the reception staff as required by answering phones, taking messages, scheduling patients, ordering charts, and covering front desk duties as required. Assist nurses and physicians with examinations and procedures. Maintain clinic equipment, sterilize instruments or equipment as needed, and order supplies as required.
LPN or RN: Facilitate the care of the patient from registration to discharge, and direct patient flow during Clinic. Facilitate and extend physician goals in outpatient care. Conduct nursing assessments and monitor patient progress. Coordinate diagnostic procedures and/or hospital admissions.
Job Qualifications
Any combination of equivalent education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be graduation from an accredited school for medical assistants, or current MN licensure to practice as LPN or RN . Current CPR certification, and two (2) years previous experience required.
Requires interaction with diverse population. Must have effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and organizational skills. Must possess basic patient care giving skills. Must have general knowledge of clinic operation. Attention to detail is critical, and a strong desire to help people solve problems is beneficial. Displays high standards with regard to attendance and punctuality.

Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Nephrology
Job Description
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks under the direction of the supervising Physicians in order to enhance the accessibility and delivery of patient care. Perform routine visit physical assessment, obtain health histories, treat conditions, counsel patients and families regarding health concerns, practice prevention, order laboratory and x-ray studies, and interpret medical findings. Consult with other health care providers, initiate and evaluate plans of care, document patient progress, refer patients to other providers, and prescribe medication. Triage telephone calls from patients, nursing homes, and/or families. Provide in-service presentations as requested by nursing staff, nursing homes or clinics. Develop patient education programs in coordination with physicians and clinic Supervisor.
Job Qualifications
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be a RN with a current Minnesota license to practice as a RN, and successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program with eligibility to sit for national certification exam within 6 months. Experience in Nephrology is highly desirable.
Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills as well as organizational skills. Must have knowledge of common acute and chronic illness processes as well as health promotion education. Must have the ability to work with multiple team members, and be flexible.
